We have the following activities within the home. These normally take place during morning from 1030 - 12.30, the afternoon from 2.30 - 4.30.

Relatives Information
The Chiropodist: visits at least once a month or 6 weekly if he is needed before just inquire at the office.
The Optician: home eye care is a new eye company we use now they come to the home every 6 months roughly and we can also call them out as and when.
The Dentist: comes in to the home regularly at least 6 monthly unless there is a need of which they come in when requested.
The Hairdresser: we have 2 hairdressers 1 comes in on Tuesday 1 comes in on Wednesday, so residents can have a choice. If you need your relatives to visit the hairdresser please see the office they will book it for you.
Clothing: clothing that you bring into the home must be labelled and added to the residents inventory or list in their file, we can purchase labels from the manufactures if you need labels let us know and we will order them for you. It is important to tell us and let us record what items of clothing or material things you bring in so we know what belongs to whom.
The Newsletter: will be out hopefully at least 3 times a year.
Activities: we have in-house entertainment and have activities in the home daily for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon.
Tea and Coffee: facilities are available in the visitors room please feel free to make a drink and make yourself at home.
Management team: the care manager and head of care, work Monday to Friday from the hours of 9am till 5pm. The 4 shift leaders work a shift; there is always a shift leader on duty. At night it is the senior night care, if you need to speak to someone please feel free.
Quality Assurance: this is a team of staff working to improve standards within the home and for them. Staff are allocated different tasks.
In the Kitchen
Many hours and hard work is spent in preparing the food at Ashlyn. The kitchen staff have updated the menu once again during the past weeks, giving each resident more of a choice in what they want to eat.
If the meals for that day are not what the resident likes they will provide an alternative. All the meals are full of vitamins and minerals needed to ensure that each resident gets a daily requirement. The kitchen provides meals three times daily, Breakfast, Dinner and evening Tea. Most of the meals are served in the Dining room, but occasionally evening meals are served as a buffet tea.
Tea and Coffee is served throughout the day, and in the evening residents can retire to bed with either Horlicks, Hot chocolate or tea. Biscuits are also given with each drink.
